Jared Quincy Davis is the founder and CEO of Mithril, an AI omnicloud platform transforming how organizations orchestrate and scale compute for machine learning workloads. Since founding the company in 2022 (originally branded as Foundry), Jared has raised more than $80 million from Sequoia Capital, Lightspeed, and NEA, leading Mithril’s mission to make compute as accessible and reliable as flipping a light switch.
Jared combines deep research expertise with strategic and investment experience. He was a Research Scientist at Google DeepMind, contributing to the Core Deep Learning team in both London and San Francisco, and earlier worked as a Research Software Engineer on the Google Brain team in robotics and large-scale ML systems. Beyond research, he has advised founders and funds as a Sequoia Scout, Research Fellow at StarkWare, and Principal Advisor at Khosla Ventures.
Previously, Jared built his foundation in strategy and investing at KKR & Co., where he was an Associate and Advisor focused on private equity and growth investments, and at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where he advised Fortune 500 companies on growth and operations.
Jared earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stanford University, advised by Matei Zaharia and Jure Leskovec as an Open Phil AI fellow. He received a $1M fellowship fully funding his doctoral work in large-scale machine learning and systems. Earlier, he graduated in three years from Washington University in St. Louis with high honors, earning a double major in Mathematics and Computer Science on a full merit scholarship.
