Mark Camel

Mark Camel joined Brighton Park Capital as a Senior Advisor in December 2025. He is a co-founder of Orthopedic and Neurosurgery Specialists (ONS) established in 1998. ONS later became the platform practice of Spire Orthopedic Partners in 2019.

He co-led the ONS practice from a 7 surgeon practice to what is currently a 35 physician musculoskeletal practice including orthopedic and neurosurgery, physiatry and rheumatology. The practice now includes ancillary services including MRI imaging and a 6 room ambulatory surgery center. During his tenure, the practice was an early leader (2004) adopting digital technology for medical records, imaging and optimizing the RCM function.

Spire Orthopedic Partners operates in 4 contiguous states with 175 physicians further leveraging technology as a fully integrated business with seven musculoskeletal practices.

Dr. Camel currently serves on the Board of Directors of Spire Orthopedic Partners and on the Advisory Board of Medtex Ventures LLC. Previously, Dr. Camel served on the Executive Board of Directors of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, including a term as Vice President. He has also served on the Board of Trustees of the Brunswick School.

Dr. Camel earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Rochester and his medical degree from the Washington University School of Medicine. He completed his neurosurgery residency at Washington University.
